Hola! This is the second email on the public list, which is still weird even though no one new has subscribed...
I drafted a blog post about how I write this email every week and how it's helped me. Feel free to give feedback.
This week I've been heads down on product / eng work for ZmURL which has been a lot of fun. Though there are some days where I feel like I've worked too long or too late which has been counterproductive.
This week I'm going to make sure I get to bed at a reasonable hour and plan my work rather than jumping between tasks (as this email goes out at 2am).
Beta for Paid Events
As of a few hours ago, you can now create an event on ZmURL and set up a ticket price. Hopefully this helps barbers, yogis, fitness trainers, language teachers, and dance instructors make money for hosting Zoom events.
If you know anyone who wants to host a paid Zoom event, please connect me.
Progress on Zoom Integration
Right now you have to create a meeting in Zoom and then paste your meeting information into ZmURL. It's quite cumbersome.
We've written a v1 of integration with Zoom so that you can create Zoom meetings from within ZmURL. Now we're waiting on Zoom to approve our application.
Big Events and Analytics
This week ZmURL supported 4 events with over 100 RSVPs. 3 of these events went really well. The 4th event was chaotic with a full Zoom meeting and an incorrect Zoom link. We're hoping the Zoom integration will help us fix issues with hosts' Zoom set ups.
Below you can see two charts on our analytics — on the left is page views per day. We're seeing incredible growth over the previous week in which we didn't exist.
The page view growth is driven by large events which promote their events on social media.
Goals for This Week
Launch Zoom integration so you can create a Zoom meeting from ZmURL
Set up 10 events with paid ticketing
Find 5 more large (50+ RSVP) events within my network
Personal Life
Last week, I had been eating my yoghurt every day without honey. This was very difficult. To console myself, I told myself that eating premium Greek yoghurt without honey was similar to how Julius Caesar's soldiers ate vegetable roots after their supplies ran out in order to outlast their enemy.
Luckily my roommates coordinated a new honey shipment this week. May there bee honey!
