Hello! So the week since the last update sort of turned into Election Week…
I was in Boston in 2013 when the Boston Marathon was bombed by two idiots (aside — we should avoid giving these kind of horrible people any sort of name recognition). The city went into lockdown over the next few days as those idiots went on a deadly rampage, killing an MIT police officer (RIP Sean Collier).
I holed up in my fraternity. And instead of taking a break, catching up on work, or spending time with friends, I spent my time incessantly checking Reddit. I watched the amateur Sherlock Holmes cabal on Reddit misidentify the bombers over and over again. Meanwhile, the situation in Boston eventually resolved itself.
A week after the bombers were caught, I read the Wikipedia article about the bombing. In 10 minutes, I learned what *actually* had transpired. The hours I had spent on Reddit contributed to my anxiety while making me *less* knowledgeable.
I try to remember this lesson, but it’s easy to forget.
So that’s a long way of saying… yes, I was also refreshing Twitter, FiveThirtyEight, and FoxNews this week. I like to think that with every 5 refreshes the GA Secretary of State tallied another Biden vote.
Zoom Attendance Tracking
Today, we launched attendance tracking for Zoom Events! While it’s easy to get a feel for attendance for in person events, it’s incredibly hard in Zoom.
Two quick asks:
Throw us an upvote in ProductHunt (if you have an account)
Let me know if there’s anyone you know who would love Attendance Tracking — I’d love to personally set them up with Luma + Attendance Tracking
Reader Question
It’s late, so I’m going to include a summary of the prev Reader Question in next week’s update.
So the question this week:
What do you want to hear about from other people on this email list? What question would you ask?
