This is one of those weeks where it feels a little hard to tell where the time went. Ostensibly, I was focused on building easy payment set up on ZmURL. But somehow the week still felt like had empty space.
ZmURL numbers were great following our Product Hunt launch last Friday. We are now tracking # of guests per week as our primary metric with the goal of growing that number 7% each week.
This week we saw our highest number of guests which was more than double our previous week. So we have our work cut out for us to improve on that this week.
Easy Set Up for Paid Events
It’s now super easy to get started to sell tickets to your event on ZmURL. For previous paid events, we would accept money and then I would manually send proceeds to the host via PayPal or Venmo… it was a huge hassle and hosts didn’t like it.
Now anyone can enable payment for their event and they will be taken thru Stripe’s onboarding process. We launched this on Friday and without announcing it, we’ve already seen 10+ people successfully collect their accounts and a few people sell tickets.
Improved Home Page
Danqing designed and launched a user home page that shows all the events you are hosting and attending. We’re working towards making ZmURL a hub for all of your Zoom events, rather than a just one off event page.
Goals
Grow # of guests by 7% from last week
Launch Organizer page to show all of your events in one place
Allow hosts to easily invite guests
Personal Life
I have been trying to grow a beard during quarantine. This week I eventually gave up. This photo shows the beard in its fullest form, before I shaved it off.
