It’s getting harder for me to separate one week from the next. So I’m thankful that I have to write this newsletter every Sunday.
Ostensibly the week felt the same as the past few — working on ZmURL, hanging with roommates, working out, eating at home, etc. But I feel energized and excited for the next week.
Product Hunt Launch
We launched ZmURL on Product Hunt on Friday. ProductHunt is an online forum for new products that is well known in the tech sphere (and not known at all outside of it).
ZmURL was the #1 product on Product Hunt on Friday with 863 upvotes. We saw a 30-40% bump in traffic from Product Hunt. And in the longer term, hopefully our Product Hunt page provides good external validation.
ZmURL Wedding
ZmURL helped a couple get married with over 150 guests! And we have some other exciting events coming up 😎.
Features: Registration Questions, User Dashboard
Hosts can now set registration questions that guests fill out as they register for the event.
Tomorrow, we’ll be launching a user dashboard to allow signed in users to see all of their events.
Goals for Next Week
We’re going to start setting goals based on # of guests but we don’t have that # yet.
Hit goal re # of guests
Easier flow for paid events
Messaging from hosts to attendees
Host public page to show all of their events
Personal Life Update
On Friday afternoon, we celebrated Jamie xx’s new essential mix by listening to it live while drinking Pimm’s and making burgers.
If you have a pulse that’s somewhat regular, I highly recommend listening to the mix which you can hear on BBC’s site. It’s groovy, sprawling, interesting, and unexpected. Make sure you have it on loud with the sun out and a glass in your hand.
We launched ZmURL on Product Hunt on Friday at midnight. So I stayed up past 3am and then woke up early to try to help boost the launch (the early hours are the most important).
But this was my energy at 6pm at 10 minutes into Jamie xx’s set.
